For the Glory of God

Our students Worship and serve God and others with excellence, creativity, and passion. Students are challenged in visual arts, music, drama, and live production, preparing them for future pursuits at the best schools.

Band

Boca Christian students are frequently selected to appear with all-district and all-state bands, beginning in 5th grade. Dr. Jeff Uban, the Band Director has performed in 49 states and 32 countries with groups like the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons, and venues like Broadway, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. He has a doctorate in jazz performance and experience teaching primary, secondary, and college-level music classes.

Drama & Thespian Troupe

Students explore drama, debate, and speak before audiences, beginning in the elementary grades. They learn how costumes, staging, backgrounds, music, and movement enhance a production.

Avenues for performance range from elementary musicals to skits in chapel, to the annual Broadway musical theater production. Additionally, high school students may join Troupe 7354 of the Florida Thespian Society, which includes competitions in Florida District X.

Music

Research shows that the benefits of music education include discipline, confidence, patience, and mental stimulation. Vocal and instrumental music classes are available to students beginning in elementary school.

Students are frequently selected to appear with all-district and all-state choirs and bands, beginning in 5th grade, and high school musicians audition for premier ensembles. The music department prepares students to study music in college and to perform professionally.

Production Engineering

Middle and high school students discover the intersection of technology and the arts in Production Engineering, a program that blends engineering, visual arts, music, communications, and technology. Students plan and run live events, including the annual Broadway musical theater production, using the tools and equipment of staging, lighting, sound, projection, and special effects. Students enjoy the technical challenges of working behind the scenes to bring drama and music to life.

Visual Arts

In the large art studio, students learn to use media to develop skills in the elements and principles of the visual arts, from Elementary Art through AP Studio Art. Learning is reinforced by school, local, and national exhibits. Each spring, students showcase their artwork at a fine arts exhibit.

Musical Theater

For over 20 years, the capstone of the high school year is a professional-level, full-length Broadway musical production, drawing on the talents of students and teachers from drama, choir, choreography, live orchestra, production engineering, and visual arts. From auditions through rehearsals and performances, the cast and crew learn how the body of Christ works together to produce something outstanding when everyone does their part. Past musicals have included The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, Annie, Godspell, and The Wizard of Oz.

Drama/Dance

Our high school drama/dance class is studying tap and jazz. This class gives students the opportunity to enhance their performance skills. Our students shine on the tap floor, using mirrors to refine their techniques.
